Design thinking is a way to put your client or user first when designing a project or product and focus on iterative design that allows you to get feedback from the user.
Here’s a quick introduction to the five stages of design thinking:
These stages, paraphrased from the Stanford d.school) are:
- Empathize (through interviews and shadowing). The goal is to understand, not judge
- Define (through personas and role objectives). Think about their decisions, challenges, and pain points
- Ideate (share ideas)
- Prototype (mockups and storyboards)
We’ll be going through the Stanford d.school crash course in design thinking, which will give you the mindset to really think deeply about how to solve your users’ issues with your website.
